Canon is the brand we see most often, from a 1200D bought for a first trip to an R6 that has done weddings. Here is what to check before you sell, whichever one you have.

Unlike Nikon or Sony, most Canon bodies do not write the shutter count into the EXIF data of a photo. Reading it needs a small program on a computer with the camera connected by USB, and on a number of newer R bodies it cannot be read that way at all. You do not need the number to get a price on the site. We read it at the pickup where the camera lets us; if yours does not, we look at the wear instead. Specks you see through the viewfinder of a 90D or a 750D are usually on the focusing screen or the mirror, and they do not appear in photos. Sensor dust does. Shoot a plain bright sky or white wall at f/16, look at the file on a computer, and any dark soft spots that stay in the same place are on the sensor. Several EOS R bodies can close the mechanical shutter over the sensor when you switch them off. If you take the cap off and see a shutter curtain instead of the sensor, that is normal. Switch the camera on to look at the sensor. Do not touch the curtain with anything.
Canon is no longer developing the EF-M mount, so EF-M lenses are usually easier to sell together with the body than on their own. If you have the EF-EOS M adapter for EF lenses, bring it; it is an accessory like any other. Rubber grips on older bodies can lift at the edges in heat and humidity, and the rear rubber sometimes turns sticky. The card door, battery door and port covers should close and stay shut. A missing eyecup is worth a sentence. None of this stops a sale; all of it should be mentioned before we meet, because the check at pickup compares the camera with what you described.
The lens on a G7 X extends when the camera switches on. Watch it come out and go back, zoom from one end to the other, and listen for grinding. Pop the flash up and fire it once. A "lens error" message on start-up is the fault we most often find on compacts that have been to the beach, and it is better to know before the meeting.
